About
Golden Apples is a DJ for hire in Perth, WA.
Jye is a one-man operation, and that's the selling point. Book Golden Apples and the person who plans the night with you is the person on the decks and the microphone. School balls, weddings, birthdays and corporate nights make up most of the diary, and he was named a finalist in Perth's top ten wedding DJs. The playlist gets built for your event, which usually takes a few hours of prep before anyone touches a fader, and requests on the night are welcome. He turns up with a pair of laptops, tall white column speakers, a proper booth dressed in black or white cloth, wash lights for the dance floor and a microphone. Based in Scarborough, and happy to travel out of Perth. Public liability insurance is included.
The show
Jye is the whole business, and you get him twice: once when you're planning the night, once when he's behind the decks running it. Same person, no handover to a stranger on the day. He builds the playlist around your event rather than pressing play on a stock set, and he'll take requests as the night goes. He handles the microphone too, so announcements and introductions are covered. School balls, weddings, birthdays and corporate nights are the bulk of the work, and he was named a finalist among Perth's top ten wedding DJs.
Performance options
The standard setup is already a proper rig: two laptops, tall white column speakers, a DJ booth dressed in black or white cloth, wash lights aimed at the dance floor, and a microphone that's either wired or wireless, your pick. Building your playlist takes him a few hours before the day, and that's part of it. From there you can add extras. Four 360 degree tube lights if you want the room to look sharper. A 15 inch subwoofer for big rooms or outdoor sets, where you want the bass in your chest rather than just in your ears. A pair of smoke machines for late in the night. Or take all of them together.
