About
DJ Von Emyl is a DJ for hire in Melbourne, VIC.
Melbourne club DJ with a Dom Dolla inspired moustache and a clean club-style booth, which tells you roughly where the taste sits. House, R&B and techno are the favourites, along with mashups and SoundCloud edits and the anthems anyone who goes out regularly will recognise, but it's open format so the genre follows the crowd. He supported Lenny Pearce at Little Ravers in Melbourne and Geelong before headlining the same event, DJed Curtis Stone's New Year's Eve party, and appeared on the Yasss Queens Park lineup alongside The Bag Raiders. Needs 2m by 2m, a power point and a flat indoor surface with trolley access. Public liability insured, DJAA member, WWCC and test and tag certified.
The show
Club energy in whatever room you've booked. Von Emyl turns up sharply dressed, moustache included, sets up a booth that looks like it belongs in a nightclub rather than a function centre, and works the floor from the first song. He's genuinely enjoying himself up there, and crowds pick that up quickly. Expect people dancing early and staying there.
On the day
Both setups fit into 2m by 2m, so it doesn't need to be a big corner. He'll want a power point within reach, a flat surface, and preferably indoors. One thing worth checking before the day: he moves gear in on a wheel trolley, so the path from the loading spot to the booth needs to be clear and trolley friendly. Stairs and gravel make it hard work.
Performance options
One all-inclusive booking rather than a menu. It brings his club rig: LD Systems sound, Pioneer DJ RX2, the custom booth, club-style lighting with LED wash and moving heads, and a wireless mic. Transport, setup and pack-down are part of it, so nothing lands on you or the venue staff. If you want more spectacle, dancers and effects like smoke and LED jets can be added through his own partnerships. Works for social parties and corporate nights alike.
