Lex is a Sydney DJ whose home ground is disco, house and pop across every era, with hip hop and a deep library of Greek music also there when needed. Weddings, private parties, corporate functions and large-scale events are all familiar. He'll work as closely with you as you want in the lead-up so the selection is genuinely yours rather than his. Speakers and decks are his own, though he's happy to use the venue's instead. Sets typically run two to four hours, longer if you want them.
The show
Lex will work with you as much or as little as you want beforehand, and most people take him up on it. The point is that the music ends up being what you actually like rather than his default. On the day
Lex has his own speakers and decks and can bring the lot, so a bare room is no problem. If your venue already has a system he's happy to use that instead, which saves the bump-in and often sounds better in a room it was tuned for. Let him know which way you're going when you enquire, and confirm with the venue whether the decks or just the speakers are available.
Performance options
There are two set lengths on offer here. The shorter booking sits somewhere between two and four hours, which suits a reception or a party with a defined finish. Beyond four hours it becomes a long set, with the extra time arranged by the hour. The other choice is whose gear gets used. Lex brings his own speakers and decks, but if your venue already runs a decent system he'll happily plug into that instead. Tell him which when you enquire, because it changes what he loads into the car.
