About
DJ Laz is a DJ for hire in Bentleigh, VIC.
Open format, and built around whoever's actually in the room. LAZ works out of Bentleigh in Melbourne, mostly on 18ths, 21sts, school and sporting functions, corporate nights and private parties. Current Top 40, house and commercial sit alongside R&B, hip hop and throwbacks from the 80s, 90s and 2000s. Send must-plays and do-not-plays ahead of time, or request on the night. The rig is his own: Pioneer XDJ-RR, two Proel DIVA12A speakers, booth, Chauvet GigBar 2 lighting, a Shure mic, all the stands and cabling. Power and a bit of space is all he needs from you. He holds a current Working With Children Check, which covers schools and junior sporting clubs. His words, and they're worth repeating: no copy-and-paste playlists.
The show
Turning up with one playlist and pressing play is not how this works. Every crowd is different, so LAZ reads the room, takes requests and shifts the music as the night moves. The goal he states is a plain one: fill the dance floor early, then hold it right through to the last song of the evening. What you're getting is energy and a bit of personality behind the decks rather than someone quietly minding a laptop, and someone who genuinely likes putting a good night together.
On the day
You don't have to organise DJ equipment at all, because the whole rig comes with him: a Pioneer XDJ-RR, two Proel DIVA12A speakers, a DJ booth, Chauvet GigBar 2 lighting, a Shure microphone and every stand and cable it needs. From your end, power and a sensible patch of space to set up in. That's the lot.
Performance options
Three levels, depending on what your venue already has. DJ only means he performs on the house equipment. Full setup brings his own speakers, booth and microphone. Party setup is that plus the lighting, which is the one that makes a room feel like a party rather than a function. Any of them can be adjusted to suit your event.
