About
DJ Delorean is a DJ for hire in Maitland, NSW.
Two turntables, retro lights and a crate of more than 600 original seven inch singles. DJ Delorean runs a genuine vinyl show built on the 70s and 80s: soft rock, pop, disco and a little hair rock, all spun from 45s the way they first sounded. Based in Maitland in the Hunter, the show is easiest to plan by naming the bands you love rather than listing every song, and roughly 50 tracks sees out a three hour party. The only venue requirement is an undercover area to protect the records. For a themed birthday or anyone who grew up taping the top 40 off the radio, it's a time machine with a dance floor.
The show
The night belongs to the 1980s. Soft rock into pop, then disco when the floor is ready for it, with a bit of hair rock thrown in for anyone who wants to shout along to a chorus. It's a genuinely fun few hours rather than background music, and because the era is so tightly held, the set hangs together instead of jumping around. If your guests grew up on that decade, they'll recognise almost everything they hear.
Song list
Eaiset way to choose is by band rather than by song to create a night to remember it takes about 50 songs to cover 3 hours
