About
Femcee Kids is a dancer for hire in Monbulk, VIC.
FemCee Kids runs hip hop workshops for children aged 4 to 12, and there's more going on in them than the noise suggests. Hip Hop Healthy Habits runs two hours and mixes fitness, interactive superfood rap performances, movement games and a healthy mind and body Q&A. The 123 ABC Workshop is an hour and suits 3 to 6 year olds, working numbers, shapes and the alphabet through rap stories and rhythm games. Underneath the rhyme and the running around, it's aimed at social-emotional learning, basic literacy and numeracy, collaboration, empathy and self-confidence. Every session is customisable. She brings all her own equipment and needs a decent sized space for dancing. Public liability and professional indemnity insurance, WWCC, police check and first aid.
Watch
The show
Loud, and more useful than it sounds. Hip Hop Healthy Habits runs two hours for the 4 to 12s, and the ingredients are fitness games that don't feel like exercise, rap performances about superfoods that the kids join in on, movement activities, and a Q&A about looking after body and mind. For the little ones, the 123 ABC Workshop is an hour and works better with 3 to 6 year olds, mixing educational rap, rhythm games, interactive rap stories and play around numbers, shapes and the alphabet. Both are customisable in content and length. Before the day she'll ask you whether there's any neurodiversity in the group to plan around, and which bits you want more of, rap, dance, games or music.
On the day
She brings all her own equipment, so there's nothing to hire and nothing to plug together before she arrives. What she needs from you is room. A fairly large open space, because the kids will be dancing and running around, and a cramped lounge room takes the energy straight out of it. A hall, a big backyard or a cleared function room all work.
Performance options
Workshops are put together around your group rather than pulled off a shelf, and sessions run up to two hours. Travel can be arranged if you're further out. Tell her the ages, the numbers and what you want the kids to get out of it, and she'll shape the session from there.
