About
Voodoo Punch is a cover band for hire in Hornsby, NSW.
Voodoo Punch have been at it for a decade around greater Sydney, the Central Coast and Newcastle, and the pitch is simple: get people dancing from the first song and keep them there. Five pieces, male and female lead vocals, pop rock and funk and straight rock covering the seventies through the two thousands. APT, Billie Jean, Don't Change, Blinding Lights, Bow River, Mr Brightside territory. They carry full lighting and a PA that covers rooms up to 500 people, and they'll do up to four hours: three of live music plus an hour of break music, with wireless mics on hand for speeches. Twenty-firsts, fiftieths, sixtieths, club presentations, launches. They're insured, and all gear is tagged and tested.
The show
Five players, two lead voices, one male and one female, which widens what they can pull from. The rig covers a room holding 500 people and the lighting comes with it. A full night runs to four hours: three of that is live playing, and recorded music fills the last hour so the floor keeps moving while the band rests. Wireless mics sit ready if anyone needs to say a few words. Milestone birthdays, club presentations, launches and family parties are the usual bookings, and the job they take on is simple enough, getting your crowd out of their chairs.
