About
The Royal Turks is a cover band for hire in Hobart, TAS.
Party rock from the 60s to now, played by a Hobart band that understands pacing. The Royal Turks start easy and build, so the early part of the night stays conversational and the back half doesn't. The set pulls Khe Sanh, Beds Are Burning, Learn To Fly, Prisoner Of Society, Proud Mary, Wild Thing and plenty more. Weddings, birthdays, club functions, work parties and pub shows are all regular ground. All they need on site is power and a dry, solid, level surface to set up on.
Watch
The show
Songs the room already knows, arranged so the night has a shape to it. The Royal Turks open gently, keep it comfortable while people are still arriving and eating, then lift the tempo in stages until the floor fills. It's paced rather than flat out from the first bar, and that's a deliberate call.
On the day
The venue supplies two things and no more. Power connection points near where the band will be playing, and a surface that's dry, solid and level underneath them. That second one catches people out at outdoor bookings more often than you'd think, so have a look at the spot beforehand and check what it does after rain.
