The Poorleans is a cover band for hire in Adelaide, SA.
Adelaide four-piece with a simple rule: play the 70s and 80s hits that haven't been thrashed to death. Pauline's husky vocals sit over Phil's guitar, Pete's bass and James on drums, and the songs come from Queen, The Police, The Pretenders, The Cars, Divinyls, Split Enz, Stray Cats, Bryan Adams, Eurythmics, Mondo Rock, Chain, Jo Jo Zep, Baby Animals, Diesel and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Two, three or four sets of 45 minutes with quarter-hour breaks, and a quieter set of background music for the dining stretch. Ask early and they'll learn a song that matters to you. PA and lighting come with them. Insured.

The show
You choose two, three or four sets, each running 45 minutes with a quarter hour break between them. The band bring everything required on the night, PA and lighting included. There's also a quieter set of background music they'll play through the dining part of the night, so the meal has music under it without anyone raising their voice to be heard across the table.
On the day
Access to the room an hour before your start time is the one firm ask, since that covers load-in and a sound check. On site they need a 240V power point close by that's in good order, and a stage or performance area of about 3 by 4 metres.
