Rocket 88 is a cover band for hire in Wagga Wagga, NSW.
Wagga's rock covers band, running from sixties classics through pub rock and old rock and roll to modern material, with sets pitched at whatever age group is in front of them. Rocket 88 use wireless guitars and vocals, which means nobody is stuck behind a mic stand. The guitarist and bass player have a habit of climbing things and standing on tables. There's a light up guitar in the mix too, courtesy of Gibbo. Three to four sets, tailored to the night, and all the gear comes with them. Just a household power point is enough. Private functions, pub gigs, weddings, markets and outdoor festivals.
The show
Rock covers, played loud, running from the sixties right up to current material. The wireless guitars and vocals are the detail that changes the night: nobody's pinned to a mic stand, so the band ends up out in the room rather than stuck on the stage. Watch the guitarist and the bass player in particular. Climbing on things and standing on tables is more or less their default setting. If you've booked Rocket 88 hoping for something restrained, you've picked wrong.
On the day
Basic household power. That's genuinely it. Everything between the wall socket and a full live show travels with the band, so there's no PA to source and no lighting rig to organise at your end.
