Mesa Groove is a cover band for hire in Sydney, NSW.
Five pieces, all live, no tracks. Mesa Groove work Sydney dance floors with a set that runs from 60s and 70s through to whatever is charting now, and they keep adding to it. Uptown Funk, Rolling in the Deep, Levitating, Get Lucky, Sex on Fire, Can't Stop the Feeling. Rock and roll one minute, disco or soul the next. The band can bring PA, stage lighting and background music, so a bare room is not a problem. Their whole thing is getting people up and keeping them there, and the repertoire is broad enough to work across a mixed-age crowd.
Watch
The show
Five musicians, everything played live, no backing tracks propping anything up. The set moves through rock and roll, classic rock, disco, funk and soul, jumping from sixties material to whatever is high in the charts this month, and they keep adding new songs so the list never goes stale. That range is deliberate. It means a room with grandparents and twenty-year-olds in it can share a dance floor, which is the whole point at a corporate night or a family party.
On the day
PA and stage lighting can come from the band if your room hasn't got any, so a bare function space is workable. They'll also supply background music, which covers the gaps between sets and stops the room going quiet while people eat.
