About
Hippie Flares is a cover band for hire in Newcastle, NSW.
1964 through 1969, in order, and played by musicians who were paying attention the first time. Hippie Flares work the Newcastle area with a 60s set drawn from England, America and Australia: Ferry Across the Mersey, California Dreaming, These Boots Are Made For Walkin', Proud Mary, The Weight, Bad Moon Rising. You can have them as a semi acoustic trio or a full five piece, up to two hours of live music, either one long set or two sixty minute ones. They'll also run background music before, between and after so the room never falls silent. The band is fully self contained, audio and basic stage lighting included. All they need is a safe 4m by 3m performance area and a 10A or 15A power socket. Public liability insurance held.

The show
1964 to 1969, played in order, by people who were paying attention the first time round. Hippie Flares give you up to two hours of 60s covers drawn from England, America and Australia, as one long stretch or two 60 minute sets. Think Proud Mary, The Weight, Bad Moon Rising and California Dreaming. They will also run background music before, between and after the live sets, so the room never falls silent while they are having a drink.
On the day
The band is fully self contained. All the audio gear comes with them, plus basic stage lighting. What they need from you is a safe performance area of at least 4 by 3 metres and a safe 10A or 15A, 240V socket. And if the power is coming from a generator, it has to be properly earthed.
Performance options
Two line-ups to pick between. A semi-acoustic trio for a smaller room, or the full five piece when you want the whole 60s sound. Either way you get up to two hours of live music.
