Django Blackheart

Django Blackheart are a four-piece playing blues and roots with original material at the heart of it. Their debut album, Blues Roots and Other Fruits, went straight in at number two on both the UK and Australian blues airplay charts, which is a serious result for a debut. Tom Harpo Walker leads on guitar, harmonica and vocals, with Doug Brown on guitar, Mitch Mitchell on bass and Pedro Mello on drums and vocals. The playing honours the tradition without being trapped by it. Sydney based, and just as effective on a festival stage as in a small room.
