About
Crunching Numbers is a cover band for hire in Sydney, NSW.
Horns. That's the first thing you notice about Crunching Numbers, and it changes how the familiar songs hit: Prince, Stevie Wonder, James Brown, Wilson Pickett, Sam and Dave, Queen, The Beatles, Robert Palmer, plus the disco end with Get Down Tonight and Disco Inferno. The band has played the North Sydney Twilight Food Fair across several years, along with Luna Park, NSW Parliament House, Penrith RSL, Forestville RSL, the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club at Newport, Cammeray Golf Club and Bucketty's Brewery in Brookvale, plus charity events and New Year's Eve parties. They carry their own sound system and lighting, and are just as happy plugging into yours. Public liability insurance is held.
Watch
The show
Party songs with a horn section on top, which gives the familiar material a punch you don't get from a guitar-and-drums line-up. The band has worked a wide spread of Sydney rooms: the North Sydney Twilight Food Fair across several years, Luna Park, NSW Parliament House, Penrith and Forestville RSLs, Waverton Bowling Club, Cammeray Golf Club, Top Ryde, Sydney Olympic Park Pool and Bucketty's Brewery at Brookvale. Add charity nights and private parties, New Year's Eve and Halloween included. So the range of rooms they've handled is broad, and that experience shows in how quickly they read what a crowd wants.
On the day
Sound system and lighting both travel with Crunching Numbers, so a bare room is no obstacle. But if your venue already runs its own production, they're glad to plug into it instead. Worth mentioning either way when you enquire, since it changes how much gear turns up at the door.
