Cheryl Hall and the Wisemen is a cover band for hire.
Five players, five singers, and harmonies stacked five parts deep. Sometimes a harmonica player joins on percussion and it becomes six. Keys doubling on lead guitar, then rhythm, bass and drums, fronted by a female vocalist who moves from Adele to Janis Joplin without blinking. The repertoire runs past 200 songs, covering jazz, country, Aussie rock, rock and roll and pop from the 60s to now, and the set list gets chosen for whoever is in the room. Between them the members have been playing 40 years each. Three 45 minute sets, stage lighting and effects included. They need mains power and a weatherproof cover, and all members are insured.

The show
Three sets of 45 minutes each, with a 15 minute break after the first and a longer 30 minute break after the second, so the night has a natural shape to it. Stage lighting and effects come from the band, so what you see is production they've brought themselves rather than whatever the venue happens to own. Requests are welcome and they'll learn them, but they need at least a month's notice to do it properly, so get your list in early.
On the day
This band doesn't play out in the open. They need to be set up under a weatherproof cover, whether that's indoors, a marquee or a proper covered stage. The other requirement is mains power, and it needs to be sound. If the electricity at a venue looks unsafe, they'll say so rather than plug in, which is fair enough when five people are standing in the middle of it holding electric instruments.
