Black Night Sun is a cover band for hire in Lindfield, NSW.
Black Night Sun play rock loud and tight. The core is a four piece, bass, drums, lead guitar and lead vocals, and it can grow with extra vocalists, percussion or guitar for bigger rooms and concert stages. Between them the players have worked across Australia and overseas in covers and originals bands and as session musicians, including with Mark Da Costa and The Black List and Glen Mead, and supporting Russell Morris, Ian Moss, Deni Hines, Killing Heidi and the Brewster brothers from The Angels. The setlist reaches from Cold Chisel's Cheap Wine and Stevie Wright's Evie to Foo Fighters, Arctic Monkeys and Green Day. They can bring their own PA and basic lighting within greater Sydney and need one to two hours to set up, a three by four metre space, and cover from the weather.
The show
The base band is four: bass, drums, lead guitar and a lead vocalist. That's the version that fits most rooms. For bigger nights, concerts or a corporate event where you want more on stage, they'll add extra vocalists, percussion or another guitar and the whole thing gets fuller. If you're unsure which way to go, it's worth describing the room and the running order in your enquiry, because the right line-up depends more on the space and the schedule than on the guest count.
On the day
Within greater Sydney they can bring their own PA and basic stage lighting. They'll need a dedicated power outlet and somewhere between one and two hours to set up beforehand, depending on how big the line-up is. Floor or stage space should be at least 3m by 4m. And if you're outdoors, wet weather cover is a firm requirement, whether that's a marquee or a backup location, because the gear is electrical and the players are standing in the middle of it.
Performance options
The band and the production come as one arrangement, and both scale. A room of around fifty guests gets a smaller version. A staged or concert setup gets the full thing, with a larger line-up and a dedicated sound and lighting operator on the desk if the show needs one. Everything in between is possible. What shapes the answer is the venue itself: how easy it is to get gear in, where the parking is, how far away it sits, and whether anyone needs to stay overnight. Give them those details and they'll tell you which size of band and rig the room actually wants.
