Before The Storm is a cover band for hire in Albury, NSW.
Five pieces out of Albury-Wodonga. Guitar, bass, drums, keys and a female lead vocal, playing covers that stretch from the 60s to whatever's on the radio now. Uptown Funk, September, Love Shack, Nutbush, Billie Jean, Dreams, Wicked Game, Blinding Lights. It moves. Everyone in the band has been doing this for decades, and they play the songs with a twist rather than note for note. Weddings, birthdays, cocktail parties and corporate nights all get the same treatment. They need power, and depending on the season a covered performance area.
The show
Five players who've each been doing this for decades, and it shows in the confidence of the set. Before The Storm don't play covers note for note. Songs get a twist, so familiar material arrives with something of their own in it. The passion for playing live is the bit they'd point to first, and it's what keeps a long night from sagging in the middle.
On the day
Access to power, always. Beyond that it depends on the time of year: in the wrong season the performance area has to be covered. Albury weather makes that call for you, so if you're planning anything outdoors, sort the cover early rather than hoping.
