Absolute Party Bangers! is a cover band for hire in Brisbane, QLD.
The name tells you the setlist policy: nothing dull, nothing obscure, just anthems people actually know. This Brisbane party band plays weddings, birthdays and corporate events with a show built on audience interaction, and if the guest of honour is game, they'll get them up to sing a tune with the band. The night can open with dinner jazz and swing, Sinatra, Buble and Van Morrison, before flipping the switch for the dance floor. Extra singers, saxophone or a brass section can be added, the band can arrive early, and they'll bring full sound and lighting if the venue has none. They're also well versed in playing within council and venue noise limits, which matters more than people think.
Watch
The show
This is a band that plays to the room rather than at it. They'll talk to your guests, pull people in, and if the birthday girl or the groom fancies a go, they'll hand over a microphone and back them up for a song. Nothing obscure gets played. Every song in the set is one people already know the words to, which is the point of the name. It stays light and a bit silly, but the playing and the singing underneath it are the real thing.
On the day
The band can run the whole show off their own kit, so you don't have to source anything. Their fee assumes your venue has an in-house sound system they can plug into. No system? Say so up front and they'll include sound and lighting in the quote. A stage isn't essential, though every band looks better on one, and 12 feet by 8 feet is the size they'd ask for. Bigger is welcome. If your venue has no stage at all, that can go into the quote too.
Performance options
Almost everything about the booking bends to suit you. Extra singers, a sax player or a full brass section can be added to the line-up. They usually arrive at 6pm but will come earlier if your guests do. And they'll either play the night purely as a dance floor band, or open with a cocktail set or two for a softer start before the party proper. If you want something that isn't listed here, ask.
