Then a decent sound system, microphone and stand. He can supply a backdrop, staging, lighting, chairs and audio if the venue can't. None of it is compulsory, and an audience that's up for it counts for more anyway.
Performance options
For a shorter slot it's him on his own. If you want a longer night, he'd rather bring two or three other local comedians he's worked with and split it into 20 to 30 minute sets each. One person carrying an hour and a half gets heavy, and the variety keeps a room awake. Staging, lighting, seating and audio can be arranged as add-ons if your venue is bare.
