About
The Silly Town Circus is a circus act for hire in Fremantle, WA.
A Western Australian collective working across performance and visual arts, with the clown's mischief as the guiding spirit. The Silly Town Circus build a zany, dream-state world and invite the crowd into it, and the point of the whole thing is community: bringing people together and sharing a space filled with laughter. Fellow tricksters and jokers from every walk of life are welcome. Out of Fremantle, they cover circus acts, roving entertainment, stilt walking, fire performance and circus workshops. Festivals and community events are the obvious fit.
The show
A West Australian collective drawing on both performance and visual art, guided by the mischief of the clown. They build a zany, dream-state world and then open it up so the crowd can step inside rather than watch from a distance. Self-expression is the point, and the group makes room for tricksters and jokers of every stripe. What comes out of it is a shared space full of laughter, which is really what they're after: people brought together and belonging to the same odd little world for a while.
