About
Whacky Mac is a children's magician for hire in Mount Gambier, SA.
Whacky Mac runs a fast comedy magic show where the children end up doing most of the work, and the adults laugh harder than they expected to. Routines are pitched at the age of the room, so a library session and a school hall get different material. There's a sneaky juice bit, colour-changing magic, props that jump, and a finale built around one brave volunteer. Balloon twisting can follow the show, or run on its own at markets and family days, and close-up roving magic suits festivals and corporate floors. Based in Mount Gambier, with travel beyond the South East by arrangement. Insured, with a current working with children check.
The show
The show moves fast and the children end up running it. Colourful magic, plenty of laughs, and enough audience participation that most of the room gets a turn at being part of it. Adults get their own layer of comedy, so nobody's just supervising. Every performance is pitched at the age of the crowd in front of him, which is why the same act works at a birthday party, a school, a library, a festival or a community day without feeling recycled.
On the day
A performance area of about two metres by two. Power is optional and only needed for the speaker. A table or flat surface helps, and he can bring one if your venue hasn't got a spare. Balloon twisting is better indoors or somewhere shaded. Beyond that, just leave room for the audience to sit or stand comfortably.
Performance options
The comedy magic show runs 30 to 45 minutes, packed with audience participation. Add balloon twisting and the show is followed by another 30 to 60 minutes of it. Balloon twisting can also be booked on its own, which suits festivals, markets, libraries and family days. Roving magic is the close-up version, performed while mingling with guests at festivals and corporate functions. Anything else, he'll tailor it to your schedule and audience.
