About
Make Believe With Me is a children's costume character for hire in Warner, QLD.
The character turns up in costume and stays in character. That's the whole idea behind this Warner based kids' party service: accents held, mannerisms right, and enough knowledge of the character to answer whatever a five year old asks. Princesses, superheroes, mermaids, Santa and a wedding option are all on the list. A visit usually takes in a song or a story reading, photos with every guest, question time, and a birthday card for the kid whose day it is. Face painting and balloon twisting come as add-ons, and those need a bit of floor space and a couple of chairs set aside. Superhero guests get put through training and sworn in as honorary heroes. Travel across the wider Brisbane area is part of the deal.
The show
The character arrives and stays the character. That's the whole point of it. Accents are held, the mannerisms are right, and the entertainer knows enough about who they're playing to answer whatever a five year old fires at them, which is the bit most people underestimate. Princesses, superheroes, mermaids and Santa are all on the list. A visit usually takes in a song or a story reading, photos with every guest so nobody misses out, question time, and a birthday card for the child whose day it is. Superhero guests get put through training and sworn in as honorary heroes.
On the day
For a straight character visit there's very little to organise. Add face painting or balloon twisting and that changes slightly. The entertainer needs a bit of floor space to lay equipment out, and seats set aside for face painting so children aren't standing still and fidgeting while it's done. Two chairs sorts most of it. Worth deciding where that corner goes before the party starts rather than shuffling furniture with a queue of kids waiting.
Performance options
Princess packages are one line, superhero packages another, and there's a wedding option as well for when a character appearance suits the day. Whichever you choose, the core is the same: the costumed character you've picked, a photo opportunity for every guest, question time for the children, a song or a story reading, and a birthday card. Face painting and balloon twisting are the add ons. Each package covers a maximum number of children, so have your headcount ready. Travel across the wider Brisbane area is part of the booking.
