About
Richard Champion is a celebrity speaker for hire in Brisbane, QLD.
Fourteen years as a professional footballer, ten of them with the Brisbane Bears and Brisbane Lions before he finished up at the end of the 2000 season. Richard Champion, or Champs, has spent the two decades since as a speaker and MC, and he's good at the part that matters most, which is genuinely liking the people in front of him. The stories are inspiring and funny in roughly equal measure, with a few surprises worked in, and underneath them sits what he learned about being the best you can be inside a team. He's worked with some of Australia's largest corporate names and is just as happy at a small fundraiser in a regional hall. Brisbane based, works anywhere in Australia. Very little setup required.
The show
Lessons learned and stories told, in his own words, aimed at being inspiring and motivating and entertaining at the same time rather than picking one. Champs has spent the past 20 years helping clients get the outcome they wanted from an event, working as MC or as a guest speaker. The material comes out of a professional sporting career and what it taught him about being the best you can possibly be inside a team environment.
On the day
Almost nothing, which makes him easy to slot into a program that is already tight. Exactly what he needs depends on the event and the room it is held in, so it comes down to a short conversation rather than a checklist of gear. Tell him the venue and how the night is running and he will let you know if anything is required at all.
