Jida is a caricaturist for hire in Hobart, TAS.
Jida paints quick watercolour portraits while your guests watch. She's Hobart based and works weddings, brand activations, corporate functions and private parties, sending everyone home with a handmade keepsake instead of a printed one. There are two ways to run it. She can take a quick photo and note each name, so people get back to the party while she paints. Or guests sit for a moment and watch the portrait come together, which is its own bit of entertainment. The paper can carry your logo, the couple's names, the company name or the event details, and the template can be matched to your theme and colours. A5 premium watercolour paper comes standard, other sizes on request, all materials supplied. She needs a trestle sized table and a chair, and she'll travel across Tasmania.
The show
Two ways to run it, and they feel quite different. With the quick photo option Jida takes a photo of each guest and notes their name, then paints while they get back to the party. With sit and pose, guests sit for a short while and watch the portrait appear, which becomes a bit of entertainment for everyone standing around too. Either way people leave with a handmade watercolour of themselves. She's in Hobart and will travel across Tasmania.
On the day
A table and a chair is the whole list. A trestle sized table works best, and at a height that suits her working seated, so around four foot. Put it somewhere guests will naturally drift past. She brings everything else herself and handles her own setup.
Performance options
Nothing here is a fixed menu. Jida shapes the booking around the style of your event, how long she is on site and how many guests she needs to get through, so a two hour brand activation and a full wedding reception are set up quite differently. Tell her the shape of the day when you enquire and she will work the painting time around it.
