About
International Brass Quintet is a brass band for hire in Perth, WA.
Five of Western Australia's best brass players, and hundreds of arrangements to draw on. IBQ can sit in the background at a drinks reception or take the room properly as a full concert with an MC hosting. The repertoire runs pop, light classical, swing, jazz, fanfares and wedding service music, which means a programme can be built for almost any occasion rather than trimmed down from a standard one. They've also performed for school music programmes. Set up is minimal: acoustic instruments, with stands and lighting brought as needed.
The show
Five brass players, all of them among the best in Western Australia, and hundreds of arrangements to pull from. That range is the useful part. International Brass Quintet can play quietly under a drinks reception where nobody needs to stop talking, or take the room as a full concert with an MC hosting between pieces. Pop, light classical, swing, jazz, fanfares and wedding service music are all in the book, so a programme gets built for your occasion rather than trimmed down from a standard one. They've also played for school music programmes.
On the day
Almost nothing. The instruments are acoustic, so there's no PA to run and no power to find. International Brass Quintet bring their own stands and any lighting they need for reading music. What they do need is enough floor space for five players seated or standing in a group, and somewhere that suits five brass instruments carrying without amplification, which most rooms handle better than people expect.
Song list
Truly diverse - pop, light classical, swing, jazz, fanfares, wedding service music.
