SnakeOyl is a band for hire in Cairns North, QLD.
Pub rock the traditional Australian way, in the lineage of The Angels and the Radiators. SnakeOyl come out of Cairns with more than 30 original songs plus a covers list they refuse to play like a jukebox. Zappa, Billy Idol, Chris Isaak, Deep Purple, The Ramones, Thin Lizzy, Alice in Chains, all given the band's own feel rather than a photocopy of the record. The set list changes constantly because new material keeps arriving. They also like a few laughs and a chat with the room afterwards. All PA, backline and lighting is theirs. They need a couple of 15 amp outlets and somewhere to set up. Band insurance in place.

The show
Pub rock, done the way it used to be done. SnakeOyl play their own material alongside covers, and the covers get the band's own treatment rather than a note for note copy of the record. Expect a few laughs from the stage and a chat with the band afterwards, because they like meeting the room as much as playing to it. Over 30 originals means the set list keeps moving as new songs land.
On the day
PA, backline and lighting all belong to the band, so there's no hire bill on your end. What they'll ask you for is a couple of 15 amp outlets and a floor or a stage with room to set up on. The 15 amp part is the bit worth checking early, because plenty of rooms only have standard sockets and that's a conversation better had before the truck arrives.
Performance options
Two different shows, and they suit different nights. The standard booking is a four set pub show, which fills an evening the way a rock room expects. The other option is an originals show, running anywhere from 45 minutes up to an hour and a half, drawn from the band's own catalogue rather than the covers list. Travel is worked out separately depending on where in the north you are. Tell them which of the two fits the room and they'll take it from there.
