About
Replica is a band for hire in Melbourne, VIC.
Rock classics and modern rock anthems, played by a Melbourne band that brings its own PA and hands you the microphone for the speeches at no extra cost. Replica's set list leans Australian and leans loud: The Angels, Powderfinger, Australian Crawl, Dragon, The Screaming Jets, The Sunnyboys, alongside Steve Miller Band, CCR, Tom Petty, the Rolling Stones and Violent Femmes. There are a few less obvious ones in there too, the songs you don't hear at every function. Give them notice and they'll learn one or two of your own favourites for the night. Setup requirements are close to nothing. Tell them where and when, and get a crowd in.
Watch
The show
Loud, familiar and aimed squarely at the dance floor. Replica work through rock songs most of your guests already know the words to, and then drop in a handful that don't turn up at every function, which is usually the part people remember. There's enough range across the night to keep a mixed room happy, from the crowd who came to dance to the ones content to sing along from the table. It stays at that pitch from the first song through to the last.
On the day
Very little is asked of you here. Pick the venue, name the date, and get a crowd through the door. Replica arrive with the PA already covered, and there's no charge attached to that. You're also welcome to borrow the microphone during the night for speeches, announcements or whatever the run sheet calls for, so a separate hire for the talking parts isn't something you need to organise.
