About
Mojo Duo is a duo for hire in Woodend, VIC.
Two players, guitar and percussion, both singing. MOJO DUO work out of the Macedon Ranges and their thing is classic country and uptempo blues, with some classic rock through the middle. Think BB King, ZZ Top, the Highwaymen. The set list runs The Gambler, Ring Of Fire, It's All Over Now Baby Blue, Walkin' The Dog, Big Boss Man, Little Red Rooster, Dead Flowers, Mean Woman Blues, Me And Bobby McGee. Straight up rhythm and blues from mature players who have done this a while. They own their production and are self sufficient in a small room, so all they need is power. Pubs and wineries are where they go best.
The show
Two players, guitar and percussion, both of them singing, and the harmonies are a big part of why it works. Straight up rhythm and blues is the core of it, with some good old country either side and classic rock through the middle. BB King, ZZ Top, the Highwaymen: that's the neighbourhood. These are mature players who've done a lot of nights and don't need to oversell any of it.
On the day
In a small venue the two of them are entirely self sufficient, which keeps your side of it simple. Power to where they're playing is all they'll ask for. There's no PA to hire, no mixer to organise, and nobody to chase up on the morning of the event. Just clear the corner and let them get on with it.
