About
Nina and James- Acro is an acrobatic act for hire in Melbourne, VIC.
Two bodies, one balance. Nina and James are a partner acrobatics duo working out of Melbourne, and they turn up in cabaret rooms, at festivals, in community events and at corporate functions. You can book a feature act of around five minutes for a stage, or roving performance from half an hour upward through a crowd. Themes get tailored to whatever your event is built around. For stage work they'd like a ceiling of at least three metres, which is the honest requirement when one performer stands on another's shoulders. Let them know whether sound is provided or whether they should bring their own.
The show
Partner acrobatics, which means one performer balancing on another and the strength that takes being part of what you're watching. Nina and James work from a set of existing acts, or they'll build something around the theme of your event. Stage or roving, and the two feel quite different: on a stage it's a short sharp feature everyone watches at once, roving it comes to people in the crowd where they're standing. They turn up in cabaret rooms, at festivals, community events and corporate functions.
On the day
For stage work the ceiling needs to be at least three metres, and that's an honest floor rather than a preference, because one of them is standing on the other's shoulders. Measure it before you book a room. They also need to know whether sound is provided at the venue or whether they should bring their own, so have that answer ready when you enquire.
Performance options
A stage feature runs around five minutes and works as a single high impact moment in a program. Roving comes in half hour and one hour sets, and you can book two one hour sets across a longer event so the act returns rather than appearing once. The half hour roving option is Melbourne area only.
