About
Hand Balance is an acrobat for hire in Gold Coast, QLD.
A handstand act built around whatever theme your event is running. Current pieces include James Bond and Goldeneye, a jungle theme and a masquerade theme, and new ones can be created from scratch if you have something specific in mind. Based on the Gold Coast. The main thing to know beforehand is ceiling height, since the act uses canes or a box. If the space is too low, the routine gets reworked for the floor instead. A look at the venue and a technical rehearsal beforehand makes the day run better, and a private area to change and warm up is appreciated. Arrival is an hour before showtime. Personal liability insurance is held. Multiple acts across one event can be arranged.
Watch
The show
Hand Balance turns up an hour ahead of the performance time, and that hour isn't padding. Handstand work needs the body properly warmed before anyone's watching, so the gap gets used. By the time your guests are in the room, the act is ready to go on.
On the day
Ceiling height is the one thing worth measuring before you book. The routine uses canes or a box, so there has to be room above them. Where a roof sits too low, the whole act gets reworked to run on the floor instead. A look at the space beforehand and a technical rehearsal both help the day go smoothly. And a spot out of sight of the audience for costume changes and warming up makes a real difference.
Performance options
One handstand routine is the standard booking, and the themed pieces are the ones already built. If your event runs long and you would rather have the act appear more than once, two or more spots across the same day can be arranged, either repeating a routine or moving between different themed pieces.
