About
Capricious Chinese Pole is an acrobat for hire in Melbourne, VIC.
Avan Whaite combines Chinese pole technique with dance in Capricious. The Melbourne act moves between strength based acrobatics and more delicate passages, using the pole as part of a physical narrative. Climbs and controlled movement share the routine with moments of agility, giving the performance a choreographic shape beyond a sequence of tricks. Avan's work has taken the act around Australia and overseas, with the contrast between power and fluid movement at its centre.
